The man who changed the way we see the world: Polaroid eyewear
-

Can you imagine the world back in the 20s? We have a strange view of those days almost convinced that they actually were in black'n white!

Well, how we see the world today is indeed thanks to Edwin Land, inventor of polarized filters. Ever since his first invention of modern filters he went on to produce them for use in sunglasses, automobile headlights and photography while in the late 30s he also invented the instant camera!

It was time to pay homage to a great scientist who revolutionized our eyes. For its 80th birthday Polaroid has prepared a new, young, sparkling collection, presented by the most important fashion influencers, singers, celebs and five shortcuts that are here to underline one thing: TO FOLLOW OUR DREAMS.

For her pop style Jillian Hervey has been chosen to present the shape of the year: Polaroid PLD 4052/S in her video “Hit the ceiling”:

An oversize round shape combined to beautiful colourful lenses!

For his artistic vain, Felipe Pantone was the perfect man to underline the abstract soul of models Polaroid PLD 1023/SPolaroid PLD 6030/S and Polaroid PLD 6031/S. Each lens colour-proposal is reflected on the bridge of the frame, for a unique graffiti effect.

Puff the Houseman and Gabby David are here to underline that an unexpected duo CAN EXIST: a graceful shuffle dancer and a funny nerd, come together as a couple in which two opposites create magic doing what they love: dancing!

No prejudice whatsoever. It is represented by Elliott Sailors (from female catwalks to the starting again as a menswear face) bringing the message of equality and beauty.

And a major respect for the little ones! Ocean & Sky are 2 young riders skating like superheroes and surfing with style. The Skate Kitchen have grown from a group of friends to a skateboarding phenomenon, ruling the world. This is to prove that determination is everything in life.

All this is about transformation. Of how 80 years ago a young man made us see with new eyes, a different perception, how to recognize new opportunities. It is all about viewing the world in a better way..
